Greubel Forsey watches are superbly technical, but always maintain the perfect balance and impeccable aesthetics. The works leaving the La Chaux-de-Fonds workshop have extremely similar genes and can be identified from a distance. Often, mechanical watch enthusiasts don’t really associate brand names with sports watches. There are more avant-garde works, such as GMT Black in 2015, but Stephen Forsey and Robert Greubel’s creativity is mostly elegant.
With the release of the latest version, the company showed a brand new look, namely GMT Sport-by far the most important watch brand for sports timepieces. This watch features a 45mm lightweight and ultra-rugged profiled titanium case with an oval bezel and integrated lugs to showcase the new movement and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
Greubel Forsey has special talents that can convey asymmetrical excitement and beauty to the audience. The balanced asymmetry of the form inspires emotions and curiosity to discover all the arches, joints and hidden secrets. The movement is basically the same as the original GMT watch, but it has been reconstructed from scratch. It also features Greubel Forsey’s signature GMT mechanism with a universal time display with a rotating three-dimensional globe (a second time zone indication on the auxiliary dial at 10 to 11 o’clock is combined with a universal time display). On the back of the watch, you will find a world time dial showing the time in 24 time zones-each time zone is engraved with a city on a sapphire dial. Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey’s critical quality and their creative freedom can be challenging to understand and live with ordinary humans. Artwork 1
The first work of art was co-created with British nanosculptor Willard Wigan over the course of 5 years. His sculpture is very small and can be placed on the eye of a pin or a pin. This time, Mr. Wigan created a miniature statue inside the movement, which can be magnified 20 times through a specially designed optical system to appreciate it.

The dial is engraved with Filliou’s precious equivalent principle-“Good job, bad job, no job” (bien fait, mal fait, pas fait). The back of the watch is engraved with the outline of the project participants.
The clock references a piece of artwork by Filliou, including a miniature sculpture of a hat with a card by Willard Wigan.

This is similar to Filliou’s work. That way, it hides the time display, which can be displayed on the 4 o’clock button. There is an “approval seal” on the front of the bronze. Art Piece 2 contains the tiny sculpture of Greubel Forsey’s first invention, with an optical system magnified by 30º Double Tourbillon.
Artwork 2 version 2
This is the first artwork without micro-engraving or carving launched in 2017. Greubel Forsey’s signature double tourbillon 30 °, along with the power reserve indicator, plays a central role on the dial. The latter is given a greater emphasis than actual time, again only visible by pressing the button below the crown.
Artwork Edition History

Showing time is again not the point here. The red triangles hovering in the woodblock forest represent the hours discretely. Minutes can be displayed in the aperture on request. This part reminds me slightly of the Aztec calendar. All prints of Greubel Forsey’s values are handmade.

Balance contemporary
The magnificent balance with signature 1 looked back at me on the newly launched Balancier Contemporain. The case is even smaller than the Signature 1 (41.40 mm diameter), which can be expanded to 39.60 mm, which makes the Balancier Contemporain the smallest Greubel Forsey watch today. Even if the difference is only 2 mm, the same balance wheel with a diameter of 12.60 mm looks even deeper in the new model. The organ’s beat is mounted on a long black polished steel bridge on a large, polished gold plate. The optical effect of the golden wheel dance is breathtaking. Greubel Forsey Balancier
The blue hour and minute hands have a tripod, arched on the golden hour wheel. On the left is the gold barrel, which is one of two fast-rotating barrels connected in series for 72 hours of power reserve. The indication of remaining energy is displayed at 10 o’clock.
Greubel Forsey’s signature tattoo is engraved deep in the platinum skin on the back.
Not very common for Greubel Forsey, and also shows the Balancier Contemporain model of gem setting.
